Using this device, tinnitus can be inhibited for a longer period of time or a short period of time only. There are different kinds of maskers available, including;

  • Tinnitus Masker – This hearing aid-like electronic device produces a sound, which masks tinnitus and reduce the discomfort of its symptoms.
  • Commercial Noise Generators – These noise generators produce different kinds of sounds, masking tinnitus and providing relief to its symptoms.

These devices are useful during nighttime when you are about to go to sleep. These devices are specifically designed and developed to help tinnitus sufferers live with the disorder with ease and comfortably.

Medications

Although tinnitus is incurable, medication can help aid its symptoms. However, there is no single medication that can help all tinnitus patients. Certain medications like anti-anxiety and anti-depressants are proven successful to help tinnitus patients reduce the pitch of the noise they hear inside their ear(s) and mind. Gingko biloba is an herb that has been gaining popularity as it is one of the most effective treatments for tinnitus. It is highly important that you consult your doctor with regard to taking medication to treat your tinnitus. Some medications can reduce the symptoms of ringing in the ear, but plenty of medications can worsen your condition.

Alternate Approaches

Other treatments for tinnitus include acupuncture, chiropractic treatment, hypnosis, naturopathy, and ear candling. Although these methods are effective in treating ringing in the ear, it does not mean that it will work for all tinnitus sufferers. Tinnitus sufferers are highly encouraged to talk to an audiologist with regard to their condition to determine the best possible treatment available for them.
